Great Shield Design!!! This fine ring was found at a Roman encampment site in Ancient Moesia and dates from between 100 and 300 AD. This ring features the Roman Legionary Shield design.

There is a shield design in the centre of the bezel. This example has a super design that was done using the "punch-dot" method . The 13mm X 12mm oblong bezel has a nice outlining decoration and there a wide, curved "strap" that has a double row of dots in it, almost like rivets. In the center, there is a series of lines in the form of an "X" behind the strap.
